Message from the Dean

It is my sincere pleasure to welcome you to the web site of the University's James A. Rogers Library and thank you very sincerely for visiting our pages. Founded in 1970, and still relatively young, the university continues to foster growth of a library designed to be innovative and forward-looking in our approach to library services. As you continue to explore our web site, you will see the various kinds of information resources and library services we provide for our users regardless of where you are located.

The library supports the educational curriculum and research needs of the University community through the development of essential collections and the provision of services that have been designed to facilitate access to information and learning. Our satisfaction comes from serving you as you progress towards realizing your goals.

Our purpose is to provide the best services possible to you, the students, faculty, and staff of Francis Marion University and to support general research in the Pee Dee Region. We know that our resources and services will be highly useful to you, and we look forward to serving you and welcome your comments and suggestions.

- Joyce M. Durant, Dean of the Library and Professor
